Digging!!!

We just though it would be quite novel to put a cam on the digger as Phil was burying our mains cables etc! The place continues to look better (apart from the 100 or so Pallets we seem to have acquired!) and the reception is completed. We are now adding some nice cobbles to the entrance to finish it off. Getting busier at the centre now with lots of weekend bookings.

The Off Road Motorcycle Schools continue to do well - yesterday saw a group all knackered by 2.45pm! 1-to-1 lessons seem to be quite popular too for those who simply want an intense session.

We are presently installing security camera's and a webcam that you will be able to watch on our main site - cool eh! Soon you will be able to watch the buggies sliding around or perhaps Derek crashing in to tyre walls again when testing!

The great thing with the system we are putting in, is that we can keep an eye on the place at all times to protect us against the undesirable elements of our society - night vision that uploads motion detection to a webserver, alerts us and then alerts the Police with a 6 minute armed response!! How cool is that - we can even watch the place live on our iPhones from anywhere in the world!!!!

Fun in the Sun

At last we have had a few sunny days, in fact they have been glorious! We have the new reception looking nice, the decking looks awesome and we are just putting in the power. Next up is some turfing and shrubbery which will finish it off nicely.

Derek has been working on the Rage Buggies as some plonkers at the weekend kept smashing in to tyre walls and have damaged the front A-arm bushes - I do despair at the lack of skill some people have when driving the buggies! Funny thing is, when Derek was out testing one, he smashed in to the tyre wall twice because he decided it would be fun to try left foot braking - a big no-no here - think the crashes pretty much proves the point doesn't it Derek!

We had Segway here today as we are looking at having them as an activity down here. They are crazy things and when you ride one it feels really odd as, at first, you try to balance yourself which is counter-productive as they balance themselves. One of the guys took one around our quad agility circuit which was really cool but some of the sections would be too hard for customers!

Glad the sun is out - now we want some massive bookings!!!

New additions

We have taken delivery of 2 new junior quads suitable for ages 12-15, which is good news for our younger customers! We tested them out over Easter and they were an instant hit! Featuring 110cc 4-stroke engines, rear disc brakes and reverse gear, they are a great addition to our growing fleet of quads.

We have also ordered two brand new Grass/Dirt Go-Karts which are suitable for 12-15 year olds in restricted trim and adults in full trim - can't wait to have a play on them! Should be here and running for the start of May 09

Dig and Deck

Rain is getting boring now and I wish it would go away as it has been hampering our progress on the new reception / shop area but a few more hours should see it completed! It will be a nice area to sit and enjoy a drink while watching the Rage Buggy Circuit so it will be well worth the expense and effort taken! Talking about the buggy circuit - it is the worst I have seen it so far with so much standing water we could almost have a swim! We are lucky in the fact that the circuit is on a bit of a slope and does dry out quiet quickly once the sun and wind gets on it, but the rest of the week and weekend looks pretty grim at the moment.

More Rain!!!

Well it came down heavy again last night and has left our Rage Buggy track in a bit of a state with loads of standing water. It is probably border-line to run it and I am not going to get covered in mud to try it! Luckily we don't have any Rage bookings today, but the quads are due out so the customers are going to get a tad dirty! Funny thing is, the forecast is for 19°C this afternoon so it might dry out pretty quickly.

The building work is coming on leaps and bounds and I expect the large decking area in front of our reception to be 99% completed by the end of the day. We have added some new signage and the place is just starting to shape up nicely.

Sun and dryness at last!

A great day was had by all who turned up today at the TrailWorld Off Road Activity Centre! A break in the weather saw quite a few people turning up for a play on the toys and I am sure the word will spread like wildfire now - it really is great fun! Baldzilla (Baz) and Grunty (Grant) helped out again today.

Sarah, Clare and a couple of the lasses from the Red Lion turned up for a bit of a lark around in the mud so we hope to see the whole pub down next time! Apart from the lack of running time due to the typical easter weather over the last few days, I think it has been a success and we will repeat the offers or something similar pretty soon to get more people through the gate - word of mouth is the best form of advertising!

Pretty knackered now and just finishing up before I get myself home, showered and down a well deserved beer or six - happy days!

Please dry out!

Well, although it did not rain properly today, the tracks had so much standing water on them that we could not operate safely. Looking at the weather forecast we may have an outside chance of running tomorrow (Easter Monday). Instead of playing, I have been creating the new TrailWorld Off Road Activity Centre website which I hope to have active in the next few days. Ohh I might have had a 'little' play for research purposes you understand!!

Sprucing up the centre

It's been a pretty busy couple of weeks for us at the main centre. We have added another section in to the Quad Agility circuit called Death Valley where you drop down a steep descent and then over a double hump followed by a tight s-bend - great fun! We have also created a brand new Junior Quad track for 12-15 year olds which will double up as our dirt kart track when they arrive at the end of April.

We have also got a new reception area which will have a refreshments and merchandise shop as well as a 'chill-out' zone on the large decking area we are building. It's a bit of a building site at the moment but we should have it finished by Wednesday if this rain goes away for a bit!

Baldzilla and Grunty have also created a car parking area for the centre which looks a lot better than when cars are scattered around everywhere - and it stops people driving down in to the work areas!

Rainy Easter at the TrailWorld Off Road Activity Centre

Well the weather has been against us a bit over the Easter break, but we have still had a bit of fun! Baldzilla and Grunty have been working with us for the duration and we had a great Off-Road Motorcycle School yesterday which saw old friend Angelo and his son turn up for a bit of tuition - his son won the TrailWorld Most Improved Rider trophy.

Today's weather (Easter Sunday) looks pretty grim so it will be another day of 'getting stuff done' rather than entertaining customers on the Rage Buggies, Quads, 4x4 and Apache! Ho hum, where's the sun!
